Your hunt will begin in the heart of the South Island high country on Glen Lyon station, a privately owned 100,000 acre property surrounded by majestic mountains, lakes and rivers. Hunting on private land ensures top quality and quantity. Glen Lyon station is near Mount Cook, New Zealand’s largest mountain, and is owned and run by Croc’s sister and her husband. The area is traditionally very hot in summer and cold in winter with stunning views of snow capped mountains and crystal clear glacial lakes year round. With direct access to the river there is no better way to relax during or after the hunt than fishing for a Rainbow or Brown Trout. The setting alone is an unforgettable experience.
Glen Lyon Hunting Hut
The purpose built hut is nestled at the base of an expansive gully and the mountains amongst which your hunt will take place. The hut gives you a comfortable but authentic mountain experience like no other – a fantastic base to relax and take in the breathtaking landscapes after a big day hunting.
Access to Glen Lyon
We will customise your hunting package based on your preferences and budget to either include a short drive from Wanaka/Queenstown over a helicopter ride from Wanaka.
