Do I need a visa to enter NZ?

As of October 1, 2019, you will need to apply online for an NZeTA. This is an Electronic proof of permission to travel to New Zealand. The application and information can be found here: NZeTA

Can I bring my own firearm?

Yes, but if you do not have a New Zealand firearms licence you will need to purchase one. If you are an international visitor you can purchase a visitors license. The airport police are very helpful and you can buy a firearm permit from them for $25 NZD once you arrive in New Zealand. To speed up the process you can also apply online. Visit www.police.govt.nz for information.

What clothing should I bring on my hunt?

Weather in New Zealand can be unpredictable and to best enjoy your trip you should come well prepared for all weather scenarios. Your hunt will take you high into the scenic mountains of the Southern Alps and very close to New Zealand’s highest mountain so you may experience anything from snow, to wading in creeks, to walking under hot sun.

Your packing list should include a good quality waterproof jacket (and ideally pants), a warm jacket, wool/thermal outer and underwear and woolen/thermal and sun hats. Try to avoid bringing too much cotton/synthetic clothing as once wet, it will stay wet and cold. Strong and sturdy walking boots and waterproof shoes are also a must.

Please bring anything you would normally take on a hunt with you e.g. day pack, binoculars etc. If there is anything you are unable to bring, we can supply it for you but please let us know.

How fit do I need to be?

You will need to do some walking on your hunt but the amount you will need to do can be adjusted depending on your fitness level. For hunters who do not wish to do a lot of walking we can organise alternative transport such as helicopters to get to hunting spots.

Should I organise transportation?

If you are flying into Queenstown, we can organise your pick up and transportation to your hunt. If you are coming from somewhere else, we can help you to organise the right means of transport to get you where you need to be.

Should I organise accommodation?

We will arrange all the accommodation you need during your hunt. If you want to extend your holiday beyond or before your hunt, talk to us, we can help point you in the right direction.
